What Characteristics Define Quality Seafood?

To make plant-based and cultivated seafood as tasty and nutritious as conventional products, we need to understand those products’ properties. We also need access to data to inform species selection. Phylogenetic Index of Seafood CharactEriStics (PISCES) organizes data characterizing conventional seafood according to phylogenetic relationships. ArcheType Library for Alternative Seafood (ATLAS) focuses on culinarily-relevant seafood archetypes. ATLAS also includes a ranking tool for scoring the potential impact of alternative seafoods in a particular archetype (you can find the code here).
